Paul S. Dayton - age 58, of Belmond, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2018, at his home in Belmond, Iowa. Paul Scott Dayton was born February 10, 1960, on a military base in Tacoma, Washington. He was the son of Kenneth and Marilyn (George) Dayton. Paul attended Pocahontas schools and went on to earn his GED. He then attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. Paul lived in Pocahontas, Fort Dodge, Renwick, Storm Lake and Belmond. He did maintenance and electrical work for several different companies, including Electrolux and Ranco.

He met and married Sheryl Hawks and he helped raise her two children, Shawn and Missy. Together, Paul and Sheryl had two sons, David and Andrew. Following his divorce, Paul met Jody and together they had a son, Nicholas. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling to freedom rocks on his motorcycle and picking on everyone. He also enjoyed spending time at twin lakes and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his children, David (Laura) Dayton of Fort Dodge; Andrew (Kayla) Dayton of Pocahontas and Nicholas (Haley) Dayton of Rockwell City; three grandchildren; two step-children, Shawn Hawks and Missy Oatman; parents, Kenneth and Marilyn Dayton; brother, Jeff Dayton; sister, Kendra (Chad) Walker and other family. Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents and cousin, David.
