Catherine June Egesdal, 91, of Charles City, Iowa passed from this life under hospice care on Saturday, December 8, 2018 after a short battle with cancer at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Catherine June Egesdal was born on January 21, 1927 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to her parents Claude and Grace Stufflebean. Catherine attended Fort Dodge High School. Catherine was united in marriage to Oscar John Egesdal on May 13, 1945. Catherine and Oscar farmed for 43 years first near Webster City, Iowa and moving later to his Dad’s farm west of Eagle Grove, Iowa where they raised their six children. She worked five years from 2001-2006 at the Fort Dodge Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. She also worked at the nursing home in Clarion for five years before moving to Charles City. She was a foster grandparent for five years in the Charles City School system. Catherine was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Catherine was all about hard work, family, and faith.

Catherine is survived by her six children: Karen Egesdal of Des Moines, Oscar (Darlene) Egesdal, Jr. of Reinbeck, Robert (Patricia) Egesdal of Moberly, Missouri, Barbara (Marc) McKinney of Springfield, Missouri, Constance (Steve) Schiller of Charles City, and Michael (Lynn) Egesdal of Royal; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Donna Goodrich of Wellman Iowa. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Helen.

It is requested that any memorial donations be made to the Cancer Unit at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.
