Morgan Andrew Parsons
30 May 1857 --- 17 March 1940

Volga City, Ia. — Special: Funeral services for Morgan Parsons, 82, were held here Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church with burial at Littleport. His death occurred Sunday at his home following a stroke suffered two days previous. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. Robbins of Mederville, and a sister, Mrs. Mike Galer of Strawberry Point.

[married to his second wife, Jennie Gilbert, at Waterloo, Iowa, on January 8, 1910, where they resided for three years and then moved to Manchester for three years, after which they came to Eagle Grove and remained ten years, then living at Holmes four years. They then lived for short periods at Manchester, Waterloo and from 1931 - 1934 at Clarion, returning to Eagle Grove to make their home in February, 1934. His wife died in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on April 13, 1934. He then moved to Volga City. Morgan Andrew Parsons was born in Clayton County, Iowa on May 30, 1857 to Thomas and Catherine (Romig) Parsons; He was first married to Nancy Schoolrud on July 3, 1881; Nancy Parsons died April 18, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa, her obituary listing her as the "wife of Morgan Parsons"; he had been married to Jennie Parsons for 17 years at the time of Nancy's death;]
