Louis A. Willard Jr. “Bud”, the son of Louis and Jean (Conaway), was born on May 29, 1947, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove and served in the United States Navy. He also served as a member of the National Guard in Eagle Grove for many years. On October 30, 1965, Bud was united in marriage – to the love of his life – Charmona Rengstorf in Algona and they had three children. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove except for a short time while Bud served in the military in California. The family shared many great times in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bud was an over the road truck driver for many years and drove for Umthun Trucking. Bud passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the age of 71 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Char; son, Steven Willard and brothers, Braden and Wade. Bud is survived by his son, Dave Willard and wife Renee of Eagle Grove; daughter, Kathy Willard of Eagle Grove; four grandchildren: Randi Willard (Adam) of Des Moines, Caitlin Willard (Cameron) of Fort Dodge, Ashley Willard of California and Steven Willard of Florida; brothers, Terry Willard (Sandy) of Eagle Grove, Gary Willard of Eagle Grove, and Mark Willard of Eagle Grove; sisters, Kathy Stasick (Jack) of Bebee, AR, Naomi Hower of Pennsylvania, Carla Schnell (Melvin) of Eagle Grove, Candice Baker (Mike) of Eagle Grove, Jackie Thompson (Mark) of Glenville, MN, Gwen Willard of Eagle Grove and Michelle Peterson (Chris) of Eagle Grove; sisters-in-law, Kathy Willard of Eagle Grove and Jane Willard of Eagle Grove; aunt and uncle, Pat and Jerry Schutt of Eagle Grove and aunt, Virginia Wilson of Long Beach, CA and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bud will be missed by all that loved and knew him. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
