Scott McMorris, 70, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 12 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, October 13 at the funeral home followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.

Scott was born in Clarion, Iowa to Burt and Alice McMorris on November 26, 1947. His father owned his own business and his mother was a homemaker and part-time secretary in Clarion. Scott had one sibling, a sister, Leanna McMorris Martin. He graduated Clarion High School and continued his education at Iowa State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Zoology - Biology. Scott moved to Denison after college where he taught school and farmed in the Denison area. He moved to the Pleasant Hill area and pursued a career in accounting and met his lovely wife, Kathy. While in the Pleasant Hill area he became a member of the Elks Lodge No. 98. Scott enjoyed farming, camping, riding motorcycles, dancing, movies, and truly enjoyed great food. His greatest joy was his family.

Scott is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Shannon (Casey) Trapp, Sean McMorris, Adam (Gina) Sparks and Brian Sparks; his grandchildren, Emma, Ruby and Payton Trapp and Dominic and Addison Sparks, sister Leanna (Ron) Martin. His brother-in-law, Tommy (Brenda) Pauscher, Mike (Angie) Pauscher; sisters-in-law, Mary (Rod) Robbins and Carol (Paul) Farrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
