Dows - Mrs. Mary Rankin, 87, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller in Dows.

Mary Capellan was born June 27, 1852 at Green Bay, Wisconsin. She married Hiram Rankin in July 1878. Mr. Rankin died in January 1921. She leaves seven children: Mrs. Albert Hackbarth of Iowa Falls, Henry Rankin, Mrs. Frank Wesenberg, Mrs. Ernest Hackbarth and Mrs. Henry Miller all of Dows; Mrs. William Graepler of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Ralph Stauffer of Phoenix, Arizona. There are 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. L.A. Dale in charge assisted by the Rev. R.A. Roloff of Morgan church. The burial was in the Morgan Cemetery.
