5 August 1858 ---- 2 July 1920

George Henry Nelson was born in Catragus [Cattaraugus] county, N. Y., Aug. 5, 1851, and died July 2nd, 1920 aged 68 years, 11 months, and 3 days. He came to Iowa Falls with his parents at the age of 14, where he grew to manhood. At the age of 21, he came to the neighborhood called Bach Grove, near Woolstock where he met and married Elizabeth Morgan. To this union ten children were born, three dying in infancy and one daughter at the age of 13, leaving six now living, as follows: Lewis, of Minneapolis; Joseph, of Renville, Minn.; Harry, of Eagle Grove; David, of Iowa Falls, Iowa; Mrs. James McCoy, of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Geo. Moore, of Renwick, Iowa. All of the children were present at the funeral except Mrs. James McCoy, and Lewis. Mr. Nelson until his health gave out was a hard working man and was an honored citizen. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and pall bearers were members of that order. They had charge of the service at the grave.
