Arlyn (Al) Frohling, 80, died Aug. 26, 2018 in Bradenton, FL. A celebration of life will be held at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lakewood Ranch, FL on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on October 11 at 11:45 a.m.

Arlyn was born to Edward and Velma Smith Frohling in Belmond on Jan. 22, 1938. He graduated from Belmond High School in 1956 and later from Minnesota State University in Mankato. He served in the U.S. Army, mostly in Evietria, Africa, and married Harlene (Holly) Williams in 1963. They are parents of Bill (Veronica) of Owatonna, MN and Kristine of Mankato, and grandparents of Zander Frohling and Veronica’s sons Corey and Shawn Schmidt of Minneapolis.

Al was the owner of Frohling Insurance Farmers Group in Mankato for many years. He married Diane Kessler Long in 1989 in Urbandale. In his early retirement years he drove for Greyhound and ADM Trucking in the Des Moines area. After moving to Bradenton in 2007, he enjoyed seven years of bus and “golf cart” driving for Westminster Communities of Bradenton.

Al is survived by his wife; children; grandsons; brothers Verlyn (Barbara) of Story City and Jerry (Alice) of Stockton, CA; brother-in-law Dennis (Debra) Kessler of Urbandale; and Diane’s children and grandchildren.
