Clear Lake, Iowa - Mrs. Donna E. Hotchkiss, 82, of rural Clear Lake, died Saturday (Feb. 11, 1984) at a Mason City nursing home. She was born July 6, 1901, in Klemme, to John E. and Ida (Day) Baumgartner. She graduated from Garner High School in 1919 and taught school in the Garner area. She later worked in the millinery department at Damon's and for the Iowa Shoe Brokerage, both in Mason City. She lived most of her life in Oakwood Park in Clear Lake, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Clear Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hotchkiss.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Steve Nicholson, pastor of the Church of Christ in Clear Lake, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation is after 4 this afternoon at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Donna E. Hotchkiss Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Hotchkiss is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Betty MacDonald, Clear Lake; Mrs. Lowell (Peggy) Simpson, Iowa Falls, and Nancy Auffett and Mrs. Patricia Nelson, both of Cedar Rapids; three sons Fred Hotchkiss Jr., West Van Nuys, Calif.; Gordon, Des Moines, and Gary, Security, Colo.; a stepson, Donald Hotchkiss, Commerce City, Colo.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
