Services for Herald A. Gruetzmacher, 79, of Nevada, Ia., a former Des Moines resident who died Tuesday at Story County Hospital in Nevada, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will be at Chapel Gardens Cemetery here. Mr. Gruetzmacher, a retired teacher and band instructor, was born in Klemme. He had lived in several Iowa towns, including Belmond, Britt and Carroll. He lived in Des Moines for several years before moving to Nevada. Survivors include his wife Mae; two sons, Roger of St. Louis, Mo., and James H. of Nevada; a sister, Glenna Gruetzmacher of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Nevada, IA. - Services for Herald A. Gruetzmacher, 79, of Nevada, who died Tuesday at a Nevada hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Ryan Funeral Home here, with burial at Chapel Hill Gardens in Des Moines. Mr. Gruetzmacher taught in several schools in Iowa and was a Carroll high school band director from 1933 to 1942. Survivors include his wife, two sons, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Glenna Gruetzmacher.
