Julian LeRoy Burdette Omvig, was born on May 29, 1930 at Eagle drove, Iowa. He died on Saturday, Nov. 14, 1981 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge of a heart condition. He attained the age of 51 years, 5 months and 15 days. Julian grew up in Eagle Grove and received his education in the Eagle Grove schools He was united in marriage with Nancy Elaine Bentley of Webster City on March 10, 1951. Julian entered the U. S. Army on Nov. 7, 1951 and served until Aug. 6, 1953. He was employed by the Iowa Public Service Company for 32 years. He worked in the power plant for many years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy E. Omvig of Eagle Grove; three sons, Randall L. Omvig of Gillette, Wyoming; Richard E. Omvig of Baltimore, Maryland; Russell P. Omvig of Eagle Grove; a daughter, Julie, Mrs. Kent Brooks of Clarion; his mother, Alice Omvig of Eagle Grove; six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Julian L. Omvig were held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth R. Torvik officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Monday.
