Funeral Monday in Evangelical Lutheran church
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Larson, 81, were held Monday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church with pastors H. W. Schiller and W. E. Carlson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Larson died Friday at the Clarion Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for a short time. She had been in ill health and became a resident of the Heritage Home in Clarion about 2 1/2 months ago. She is survived by one son, Lloyd Larson, one grandson, Paul Larson, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Julius Roseland of Eagle Grove and Bert Roseland of Omaha, Neb., two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Pohlman of Eagle Grove and Miss Mabel Roseland of Minneapolis, Minn. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Christine Larson was born April 12, 1889 in Eagle Grove to John and Malinda Olson Roseland. She was baptized into the triune faith on April 28, 1889 at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. On November 22,1902 she renewed her baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at the Holmes Lutheran Church, pastor Sletten officiating. She died January 8, 1971 at the Clarion Community Hospital after reaching the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 26 days. She attended the rural schools of the area. On March 5, 1910 she was married to Benjamin Larson. The ceremony was performed by Rev. L. O. Thorson. They lived on a farm in the area, moving into town in later years. Christine was a member of the Ladies Aid, had been a Sunday School teacher and was active in various organizations in the church. She had been a resident of Heritage Home in Clarion the past 2 1/2 months. Preceding her in death were her parents, a step-mother, husband, Ben, a daughter in infancy and a daughter, Caroline, in 1963, three brothers: Elmer, Joe and Harold Roseland, one sister, Ellen J. Weeks. Those who mourn her departure are her son Lloyd, one grandchild, Paul Larson of Eagle Grove. two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bert Roseland, Omaha, Neb. and Julius Roseland, Eagle Grove; two sisters: Miss Mabel Roseland, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Floyd Pohlman, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held January 11 at 1:30 p.m. in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller and Rev. W. E. Carlson. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
