Roy William Burress, 80, passed away Saturday July 21, 2018 at home from Alzheimer's and dementia. He was born October 24, 1937 in Dows, Iowa to Orville and Reba Burress. Roy graduated from Litchfield High School [Minnesota] in 1955. He was certified in engineering. On November 1, 1958 he married Irene E. Oldenburg, they were married 59 years and had two children, Brian R. Burress in 1960 and Brenda M. Fahrenholtz (Burress) in 1963. Roy worked at Litchfield Seed house, then Grove City Elevator, he then moved to Coon Rapids, MN and worked for Sears in St. Paul and then at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis. He moved to Austin, MN to work for Austin St. Olaf Hospital and then at Austin Public schools. His final move was to Longmont and Roy worked for Boulder Valley School District and lastly for Jefferson County School District as a construction manager. He retired in 1989. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his son Brian, sister Evelyn Lemke and parents Orville and Reba Burress. Roy is survived by his wife Irene, daughter Brenda, granddaughter Anna Maurice of Arvada, grandsons Tyler Fahrenholtz of Gilbert, AZ and Tanner Hamilton of Longmont, great granddaughter Mackinzie Ward of Arvada, great grandson Andreu Maurice of Arvada, brothers Forrest Burress (wife Joanne), Russell Burress (wife Carol) and Ron Burress, sister Dorthea Mae Divine, brother-in-law Richard Lemke and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, July 27, 2018 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Seasons Hospice of Denver, Alzheimer's Association or Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
