Dennis Duane Derscheid, the son of Einar L. and Darlene R. (Hill) Derscheid, was born on January 27, 1952, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm in Troy Township and graduated from Eagle Grove High School “Class of 1970”. Denny lived in many different cities and worked on numerous concrete and construction projects. Airports in Orange County, California, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Post Office building in Des Moines. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars and the outdoors - especially the Arizona weather and area. Denny was very close with his mother.

Denny died on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include his brothers, Doug Derscheid (Mary) of Lincoln, NE, Greg Derscheid (Marlys) of Nevada and Rick Derscheid (Kay) of Eagle Grove; nieces, Kim Koch (Doug) of Lincoln, NE, Kelly Derscheid of Nashville, TN and Jill Malloy (Nate) of Sioux Falls, SD; five great nieces and nephews and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating with a luncheon immediately following. Fellowship with the family is from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Private family burial will be prior to the services. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
