Services for Michael Robert Salier, 46, of Monroe, Iowa were held Wednesday at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Cremation has taken place. Michael passed away Sunday, July 27, 1997, in an accident at his home. Born June 30, 1951 in Mason City, Michael was the son of Robert and Juhl Hogan Salier. He was a 1969 graduate of Mason City High School and also graduated from NIACC. He lived in Newton prior to moving to Monroe in 1986. September 28, 1985, he married Judith Toillion in Newton. Mr. Salier was a security officer at the Prairie Meadows Race Track and Casino. Survivors are his wife, Judith, two stepsons Thomas Wenck of Des Moines and John Wenck of Clive, a niece, Kelly May and nephew Brian May both of Iowa City and a sister, Kathryn Vyrostek of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials to he Friends of Iowa Public Television or Powell III Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center will be accepted.
