6 October 1885 ---- 22 June 1962

Funeral services for Manning Trout, 76, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kastler Funeral Home. Mr. Trout died in his sleep June 22, following a short illness. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Helen, Mrs. Jules Mayer of Dallas, Texas, two sons, Robert Trout of Indianapolis, Ind. and Capt. Richard Trout, stationed in Germany.

Capt. and Mrs. Trout were away from the base, vacationing in other parts of Europe and the Red Cross was unable to contact them at the time. However word has reached Richard and he is now enroute home on emergency leave.

Manning Trout was born Oct. 6, 1885 in Abingdon, Ill. He came to Eagle Grove in 1907 and was employed by the Chicago and North Western R. R. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Rail Road Trainmen and it was on June 14th a picture of Mr. Trout was in the "Eagle" showing him receiving a certificate and pin in recognition of his 50 years of continuous membership in Lodge 138, B. of R. T. He retired some years ago. He is also survived by one brother, one sister both in Abingdon, Ill., and four grandchildren.

Rev. Lyle Lieder and Rev. Roy Cox had charge of the funeral services and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were former employees of the C and N.W., Carl Faust, Frank Hall, Thos. Benedict, John Vike, Chester Hadden, and Cecil Winans.
