Norman W. Aswegan, 64, of Hardy, passed away June 5, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Hardy.

Norman Wayne Aswegan, the son of Harold and Tena (Henze) Aswegan, was born in Grundy Center and raised on a farm near Fern, Iowa. He attended school at Dike and following his graduation from Dike High School in 1972, attended Hawkeye Community College. Norman began working in the construction business and as a grain truck driver before going to work for the Haldemann-Homme Company. He traveled extensively with the company installing high school and University fixtures and equipment until his health declined in March of this year. Norman was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. He had a life long love of cars and enjoyed attending drag races. He enjoyed snowmobiling, woodworking, and barbershop music. He especially loved traveling with Debbie to Vegas and the Caribbean, and camping trips with friends and family.

Norman is survived by his wife, Debbie of Hardy; step children, Ashley Collins of Missouri Valley and Matt (Lauren) Fowler of Bradgate; his mother, Tena Aswegan of San Diego; grandchildren, Andrew, Nora, Isaac, Tristan, and Kori; brother, Galen (Renea) Aswegan of San Diego, CA; and nephews, Griffin and Garrett. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Aswegan and his granddaughter, Laila.
