Anna Lynch Courtney
August 1842 –--- July 21, 1928

Mrs. Wm. Courtney passed away at her late home in Newark township, Vincent, Iowa, July 21, 1928 at 10:30 a. m. at a ripe old age of 86 years. She was born in County Clare, Ireland, in 1842, and when 10 years of age she came to America, coming to Muskegon, Mich., at the home of her sister with whom she made her home until her marriage to Wm. Courtney, who preceded her in death some 14 years ago. To this union was born six children, three having already gone to their reward. Those left to mourn the loss of a good mother are Mrs. John Cahill, Mrs. Elmo Vining and Wm. Courtney, also two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Courtney was of a very cheerful disposition, always having a good word for everyone. During the last year of her life she has been a great sufferer with cancer, finally ending with complications which caused her death. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Sacred Heart church in charge of Father Hintgen of Eagle Grove. Interment was in the family lot at Eagle Grove.
