Salem, OR - Richard Bravinder Lovrien, 91, a veteran of World War II and longtime resident of Salem, Oregon, passed away on April 23, 2018 with loving family by his side. He was born to Sidney and Lola (Bravinder) Lovrien on September 28, 1926 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and later moved to Redwood County, Minnesota. After graduating from high school Richard joined the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific from 1944 - 1946. He also served in the Navy from 1951 - 1953.

After World War II he returned to Minnesota and married Florene (Lori) Kodet on October 21, 1947 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. They were married for 71 years. In 1965, Richard, Lori, and the family moved to Salem, Oregon where Richard worked as a senior industrial foreman for Ormet and Wah Chang titanium factories in Albany, Oregon.

After retirement, Richard and Lori spent the next two decades traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their RV and during the later years in their pickup and camper. They especially liked Arizona, where they would spend many winters. In retirement Richard also enjoyed golfing, gardening, and birding.

Richard is survived by his wife, Lori, and their six children; Dennis Lovrien of Salem, Oregon, Linda Dent of Beaverton, Oregon, Renee Huebsch of Portland, Oregon, Valorie Brown of Salem, Oregon, Scott Lovrien of Milford, Connecticut, and Collen Rake of Beaverton, Oregon; 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Family services are pending and will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements through Unger Funeral Chapel of Silverton.
