Emil Johann Junker, son of Johann and Adeline Harins Junker, was born in Wittmund, Germany, Dec. 11, 1872. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church. He immigrated to the United States in 1896, settling first in Illinois and a few years later came to Iowa. For the past 50 years he has made his home with the Fred Beyer family. He entered Lutheran hospital at Hampton, Feb. 12, 1961 where he died Feb. 21. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Mr. Junker is survived by two brothers, Otto Junker of Kansas City and Hans of Germany, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday from the Vernon Lutheran church [Dows, Iowa].
