Helen Marie Donet, age 95, of Silver City, New Mexico passed away at Silver City Care Center on Monday, April 23, 2018. A native of Clarion, Iowa, She was the daughter of William Dexter and Mayme [Lorts] Dexter.

Helen Marie Donet as a young person would test milk for farm and ranch areas. Helen (Dexter) Donet was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for 25 years. She loved to sew, make crafts, and was an excellent cook. She loved to travel mountains and lakes. She and Mr. Donet would take the motor home and fish at Quemado Lake, Lake Roberts, Elephant Butte Lake and Caballo Lake. She was a loving person to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include Husband Paul Henry Donet, Mark Donet (Jody), Paul Donet (Jonell, Chris Bransford (Gil), Marcia Hommel (Tom), Bill Arnold, and Jane Simcina, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Brother Harold and sister Jean. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mayme Dexter, and daughter Pat Arnold.

A funeral service will be held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Keels, Tom Hommel, Paul E. Donet, Mark P. Donet, Bill Arnold, and Gil Bransford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Calvary Baptist Church, 186 By-Pass Road, Silver City, New Mexico. Bright Funeral Home, 210 W. College Ave., Silver City, New Mexico, is in charge of arrangements.
