April 30, 1896 ---- June 6, 1983

Mrs. Grace Stoppelmoor, 87, died Monday evening [June 6, 1983] at Solon. She had been in ill health for the past three months. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.

Surviving are sons, Luverne Stoppelmoor, Dows; Ernest Stoppelmoor, Solon; Floyd Stoppelmoor, Independence, Mo.; Sterling Stoppelmoor, Dows; daughters, Mrs. Sidney (Ruby) Thompson, Springfield, Ore.; Mrs. Frank (Viora) Welsh, Blairsburg, 30 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Florence Eltjes, Kelsey, Iowa; Mrs. Anne Roelf, Allison, and Mrs. Rose Laird, Webster City.

Grace Naber was born at Kamrar and in 1913 she married William Stoppelmoor at Allison. The couple made their home for a short time in Aplington, and then moved to Kamrar where they resided for three years. They then moved to a farm near Blairsburg, living there until 1944, when they moved into Blairsburg. Mr. Stoppelmoor died in 1959. Mrs. Stoppelmoor continued to live in Blairsburg. She had been in the hospital, returned home and then was at the home of her son, Ernest, in Solon.
