Mark Allen Ridout, the son of William B. and Carol M. (Higgins) Ridout, was born on July 2, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa. Mark was raised and educated in Estherville, graduating from Estherville High School in 1984. He then attended computer and business school in Des Moines.

Mark made his "home" in several cities and states. He was forever on the search for a new "job" or "adventure" and always had a story or two about them all. Mark participated in RAGBRAI for a number of years and he loved to play golf, gamble, play cards, bake, cook and was an avid Hawkeye and Miami Dolphins Fan. He also had a strange fondness of LARGE watches.

Mark passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Avera Mckennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 51 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Burl and Wilma Ridout and Fay and Kathleen Higgins; his father, Bill in 2009 and his uncle Dennis in 2017. Survivors include his mom, Carol M. Ridout and Dick of Toledo; sister, Lisa M. Foust and husband Chad of Eagle Grove; nephew, Tyler Foust of LeMars; aunts, Carla Ridout of Estherville and Mary Watson and husband Mick of Milwaukee, OR; cousins, Travis Ridout and wife Carolyn and Todd Watson and wife JoAnn; nieces, Ashley Norris and husband Aaron and Lori Ungern and their children and many other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. Memorials may be directed to the Eagle Grove Memorial or Estherville Public Libraries, Estherville Parks and Recreation. Foust Funeral Homes of Eagle Grove and Goldfield in charge of arrangements.
