Margaret M. Mastranardi, formerly of West Hartford, died peacefully on Monday January 15, 2018 at the age of 89 in the home and loving hands of her daughter Jane, in Austin, TX. Born March 21, 1928 raised in Eagle Grove, IA, she was one of two children of Edith Miriam Paine (née) Hillyard and George Francis Draper Paine. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, sister Alice [Tiffin] and husband Francis A. Mastranardi and is survived by her children Christine Waites of Manchester, CT, Jane Scaff of Austin, TX, and David Byro of Magnolia, NJ, stepson Michael Mastranardi of South Portland, ME, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Margaret had a passion for art and graduated Iowa State with a B.A. degree in 1949, worked as a commercial artist throughout her life, most notably at the Imprint publishing the West Hartford News.

A memorial service will be held April 15, 2018, 2:00 pm in the Chapel at First Church West Hartford where her ashes will be joined with her husband Frank in the church garden.
