Judith Ann Warren, age 83, of Chanute, KS, passed away on April 9, 2018 at NMRMC in Chanute. She was born November 25, 1934 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Russell Wayne and Opal Bernice (Biggerstaff) Good. Judith graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, KS in 1952. She continued her education at Washburn University in Topeka, KS and graduate in 1956 with a B.A. Degree in Applied Music. She was active in the Opera Workshop and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and the Music Sorority while at Washburn. Judith realized her love for teaching music and returned to school to get her B.A. Degree in Music Education at St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS in 1963.

After adopting a daughter, Michelle, Judith decided to stay at home and raise her daughter and teach music privately. In 1971, they moved to Chanute where she taught private voice and piano lessons. Her students were very talented and she thought of them as her own children. Her students performed in many different places including the Chanute Community Theatre. Judith was also involved in the Neosho County Community College musicals and in the Iola and Chanute Community Theatres and was fortunate enough to play lead roles in "Holly Dolly and "Mame". Judith was a member of St. Cecilia Music Club, Chanute Community Theatre, Iola Community Theatre and First United Methodist Church in Chanute.

Judith is survived by Daughter: Michelle Warren Bradfield of Moran, KS; Sisters: Sharon Mecklem of Santa Fe, NM and Nancy K. Oldham of Nevada, MO; Grandchildren: Jay Tredway of Iola, KS; Michael Tredway of Chanute, KS; Sara Kessler of Chanute, KS; Susan Lockhart of Buffalo, KS; Great-Grandchildren: Caleb Tredway, Jazmine Tredway, Ethan Kessler, Harleigh Tredway, Wyatt Wood, Kenzi Kessler, Gage Tredway, Elizabeth Lockhart, Mavrick Wood, Allison Lockhart, Kaydria Tredway, Alex Lockhart, Leah Ingles, Mason Ingles, Savannah Wood, Emily Lockhart, Jay Tredway, Jr., Michael Tredway, Jr., and Charlotte Kessler; Judith was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rodger L. Good and sister, Sandra Good Pointers.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home - Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Memorials have been suggested to the Washburn University Music Department and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, Kansas.
