Shirley Zinser, 91, of Rochester, MN, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at her residence at Cottagewood Senior Community. Shirley was born September 14, 1926 in Minneapolis to Enos and Elizabeth (Cramer) Schneider. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and then worked for Lutheran Brotherhood. On July 12, 1947, she married Kenneth L. Zinser of Goldfield, Iowa. They lived in Edina, MN until 1965 when they moved to Rochester. She worked for the City of Rochester in the Finance Department for 22 years before retiring in 1994. She was a long-time member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include five of her children, Dave (Linda) Zinser of Rochester; Cheri (Warren) Kramer of North Port, FL, Sandy (Curt) Hendrickson of New Richland, MN, Mary Ann (Terry) Djonne of Rochester, and Mike (Barb) Zinser of Rochester. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother of 36 children. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim; and husband, Ken.

Shirley was an avid bridge player, and loved to read, go on camping trips with her family, go boating on the river and travel with Ken. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining. She was known for her positive attitude and beautiful smile and dealt with her MS with dignity and grace.

The funeral service for Shirley will be at 11:00 am Thursday, April 12th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home [Rochester, MN] with Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
