Lova L. Winter, 93, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center. She was born February 18, 1925, in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of John and Blanche (Anderson) Cooper. Lova married Charles M. Winter on January 4, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb. Lova was formerly employed by Brody’s Coats in DeKalb. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Lova was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb.

She is survived by three sons, Robert (Cheryl) Winter of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Charles M. Winter, Jr. of Mount Dora, Florida, Calvin (Jill) Winter of Rockford; daughter, Belinda (Stephen) Alexander of Midlothian, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Cox of Rochelle, Jean Shifflette of Hinckley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2013; her son, Kenneth Dean Winter; daughter-in-law, Marjo Winter; two brothers, Leo and Jeff Cooper.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Ray Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lova L. Winter Memorial Fund, addressed to the Winter Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
