Stacy McVey, 56, died March 24, 2018 at her home in Des Moines. A reception will be held Saturday, March 31 from 2-4 p.m. at Blank Golf Course, SW 9th and County Line Road in Des Moines. A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Fleur Drive in Des Moines. Stacy was born Aug. 8, 1961 to Maxine Joy (Gartz) and James Leland McVey. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1979 and Iowa State University in 1983 with a degree in education. Stacy beat cancer every day by how she lived. She was very fond of her pets Zoey and Cy. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson Paul Hoch. Those she hated to leave behind and was glad to share her life with were her spouse and best friend Bobbie Hoch; stepdaughter Tammy (James) Wardell and their children; her siblings James “Jimmy” McVey, Brian (Bobbi) McVey, Denise (Jim) Scheller and Michael McVey; three nephews; a niece; three great nieces and a great nephew.
