13 February 1859 ---- 11 November 1936

Jacob Dorenkamp, age 77 years, died Wednesday, November 11, at his home three miles southeast of Goodell. He has been ailing for several years. An operation was performed but he did not regain his strength. Mr. Dorenkamp came to America from Bunderhee, Eastfriesland, Germany in 1882. He settled near Palsville and has lived in the vicinity of Belmond since then. He leaves his wife and eight children, Mrs. Sophia Ainger, Mrs. Johanna Scharp, Mrs. Bena Rubendall, all of Belmond, Carl and of Thornton, Mrs. Fannie Sandry and Mrs. Louise Larson of Klemme and Steve Dorenkamp of Goodell; also two brothers, John and Peter Dorenkamp of Belmond; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Immanuel Reformed Church. The Rev. E. Kampmann of Meservey and Rev. O. G. Poppen were in charge of the services. Burial was made in the family lot at the Reformed cemetery.
