Joanne Beryl (Rasmussen) Johnson, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2018, after a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in 1940 to Raymond and Edna Rasmussen in Goldfield, Iowa. Her kind soul and playful spirit will be greatly missed. Joanne was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed being in nature and was an avid gardener. She had a love and appreciation for music. Playing in two harmonica bands, she found joy in the universal ability of music to lift people’s spirits. Her infectious sense of adventure often found her and those around her exploring new places, meeting new people, listening to live music and dancing whenever possible.

Joanne grew up in East St. Paul, MN and married Richard Johnson on May 16, 1962. They had four children whom they raised in Delano, MN. They had a retirement home built on Turtle Lake which the family and friends enjoyed. In 2012 they moved to Grand Rapids, MN.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Rasmussen; brother, Richard. Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Richard; sons, Mark and Allen; daughters, Jeanine and Janell; sister, Phyllis (Glen) Roach; grandsons, Nick and Josh; and many nieces and nephews.
