Hazel Ruth Watson was born September 6, 1913, at Eagle Grove the daughter of Fred and Mae Marshall Watson. She received her education in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School and Eagle Grove Junior College. She was united in marriage to Lewis Bilek of Fort Dodge in 1935 at Eagle Grove.

She was employed in Eagle Grove at the Christensen Shoe Store, as a secretary, for the Finley Insurance Agency, Eagleson Insurance Agency, and the Security Insurance Agency. She retired in 1994. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School and Junior League for many years.

Hazel Bilek died at the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, September 3, 1991, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 27 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Rodberg, Carlsbad, Calif., and a sister, Mildred Tollefson, Green Bay, Wis.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, were in charge of arrangements.
