Services held for Wm. D. Roths, 34
Services were held Saturday Jan. 18, for William Dale (Billy) Roths, age 34, who died in a Veterans hospital in Minneapolis on January 15th following surgery. The services were held at 2:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church, Goodell, with the Rev. Byron Surface officiating. The pastor used as his text Matthew 11:28 with the meditation entitled "Come Unto Me." Comfort in music was supplied by a mixed trio of Mrs. Park Miller, Mrs. Larry Langlitz, and Amos Hanson. The hymns used were "How Great Thou Art", and "The Old Rugged Cross". Mrs. William Reinhart was the organist and the pallbearers were, Melvin Buseman, Robert Roths, Thomas Roths, Jr., Irvin Buseman, Lester Buseman and Gerold Buss. Mr. Roths was laid to rest in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. He had reached the attained age of 34 years, 11 months, and 21 days at the time of his death. Bohn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born Jan. 23, 1934, on a farm east of Goodell, he was the son of Robert J. and Nettie Bachman Roths. He was graduated from Klemme High School in 1952 and entered the Marine Corps in 1953. He served in the Korean area until 1956. He lived on the West Coast until returning here in 1962. On Sept. 26, 1963, he was married to Alice Bartleson in Forest City. They had lived in Minneapolis the last four years.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Robin Gail; two step-children, Donna Marie and Doug Eugene; his mother, Nettie Roths, Prairie View, Garner; and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Marlene) Johnson, Garner. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Franklin Dean Roths.
