Philippe "Dean" Grandgeorge, the Son of Philippe and Louise (Claude) Grandgeorge, was born on August 27, 1932, in Webster City, Iowa. He graduated in 1950 from Woolstock High School. Dean showed Cattle and was a leader in the Woolstock Jr. Stockman 4H, and a coach of Woolstock Little League.

On January 8, 1955, Dean married Evelyn Zeka in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He farmed both row crops and livestock near Woolstock and worked part-time at Arrow Acme until he was injured in a farm accident in 1976. Dean was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church until he was physically unable to manage the stairs, he then joined the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. He was a member of Ban de la Roche. He was always busy and involved in the many church activities. Dean enjoyed going to all the grandkids activities, Iowa State sports, cards with family and friends, and going to the Woolstock Senior Citizens Center.

He loved vacationing at the Rotary Ann in Eagle Grove, where he received three squares a day and the nurses doted over him.

Dean died on Friday, March 16, 2018, in Waterloo Iowa, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister and one great-grandson. Survivors include his wife of 63 years; children Mike (Katy) Grandgeorge of Ames, Iowa, Don (Sue) Grandgeorge of Eagle Grove, and Bob (Camilla) Grandgeorge of Woolstock, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Travis (Tabitha) Grandgeorge, Jana (Brook) Beisell, Jill (Korey) Link, Brad (Paige) Grandgeorge, Curt (Katie) Grandgeorge, Alex (Lauren) Grandgeorge, and Jacob Grandgeorge; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Monday, March 19, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 20th at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in the Woolstock Township Cemetery, Woolstock, Iowa.
