18 September 1926 ---- 18 June 1994

Mavis Dean Bohy was born to Charles and Hazel Martin Bohy on September 18, 1926 in Woolstock, Iowa. She lived in that community for her entire childhood. She graduated from Woolstock Community School. Her father Charles died on December 4, 1944 in World War II. On October 9, 1943, she married Donald “Shorty” Ratcliff at Bethany, Missouri. The couple farmed in the Woolstock area for several years. The couple had two daughters, Judy and Carol. In 1960, they moved to Webster City. She had been employed at several positions at the Farmers National Bank for 30 years. At the time of her retirement in 1986, she was assistant vice-president and loan officer. Her husband died on August 18, 1978.

On September 25, 1981, Mavis married Clyde Culmer at Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple resided in Webster City, Iowa for the 13 years of their marriage. Clyde lovingly cared for Mavis in her last years so that she could stay in her own home.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Culmer and her daughters, Judy (Jim) Sinn and Carol (Paul) Dunn and her grandchildren Trent and Tangela Sinn and Brent and Brandy Dunn. She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald, her parents, and one daughter in infancy. Mavis was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and the American Legion Auxiliary.
