March 27, 1896 ---- September 5, 1982

Tressie A. Rasmussen passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, September 5, 1982, at the Rotary Ann Home at Eagle Grove, Iowa She was born northwest of Goldfield on March 27, 1896, later moving to town with her parents Fredrich A. and May Slaikeu Rasmussen in 1922 where she resided until moving to the Rotary Ann Home in 1966. Tressie attended grade school in the country school less than a mile from the farm home and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1915 and later attended Iowa State Teachers College. Tressie was a life long member of the United Presbyterian Church and will long be remembered for her work in Sunday School primary departments, for her interesting lesson aids including specially designed cookies that she often baked and served to the children to illustrate the lesson. She was also active in the Junior Missionary Society for many years and a loyal member of the choir during her active years in the church. She was also a long time member of the D.O.C. Club and contributed her time and talents to many civic affairs.

Tressie was preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers, Eldon, Willard and Kenneth and her sister, Hazel, Survivors include her sister-in-law Edna Rasmussen; nephews Wayne and Merril Rasmussen and her niece, Elaine Norris, along with seven grandnieces and nephews and one great grandniece.
