Eldon Rasmussen passed away Tuesday, July 17, 1979, at the Clarion Care Center at the age of 84. He leaves his wife, Edna; two sons, Wayne of Des Moines, and Merril of Goldfield; one daughter, Elaine of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Tressie Rasmussen of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Rasmussen was born January 5, 1895 near Goldfield on his father's farm and resided there until retiring in 1970. During this time his three children were born and raised in this same location. He was graduated from Goldfield High School and went to Iowa State College in Ames and graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He married Edna Lindhart in 1922 in Humboldt. He was a life-long member of the United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield. While in college he was a member of the Forum Literary Society and the Military Band. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and a former member of the Liberty Township School Board. He was always active in music in the church and community, participating in both vocal and instrumental fields. His greatest interest, outside of his home and family, was always the church where he served as an Elder, a superintendent of Sunday school, and a member of the choir. He also served on numerous committees and church groups over the years.
