A graveside service for Betty Burtis, 94, formerly of Corwith will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at Highland Home Cemetery in Ledyard. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Friday at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Wesley.

Betty Jane Burtis was born April 16, 1923, in Wesley Township, daughter of Albert James and Edna Mae (Hiller) Davis Sr. She was the oldest of 16 children and she help take care of her siblings in her younger years. She was married to Glenn Burtis on June 21, 1945, in Elmore. MN.

Betty cleaned the Acreage Motel in Algona for many years. She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed fishing with Glenn. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ledyard and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wesley.

Betty Jane Burtis died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton at the age of 94. She is survived by two children, Sharon Ehrich (Arnold) of Corwith, and Ronald Burtis (Connie Borneman) of Hampton; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Barbara Fisher of New Ulm, MN, Marilyn "Wimpy" Adams of Lake Mills, and Peggy Holck of Ames; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn on June 1, 2005; a granddaughter Shawntel Burtis; a great-great-grandson; five brothers, Jack, Elwood, Robert, Jerry, and Albert Davis Jr.; and sisters, Patricia in infancy, Elma Bergeson, Adelia Hegarty, Marion Hanson, Sally Green, Scherry Kyhl, and Mary Thompson.
