Mrs. Pernella (Babs) Tofteberg, 56, died Monday evening (Jan. 19, 1981) at University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a lengthy illness with cancer. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Roland McKay, 515 N. 11th St., Fort Dodge. Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Dr. Palmer Wold, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Bode. Schellhammer Funeral Home, West Bend, is in charge. The casket will be taken to the church Friday at noon.

Surviving in addition to her daughter, are a son, Glen, Bode; four grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Magnus Rongved, Bode; Charlotte Koestner, Mrs. Lawrence Westling, Mrs. Charles Reetz and Marjorie Peck, all of Fort Dodge; brothers, George Mathiason, Fort Dodge, Glen Mathiason, Humboldt, and Merle Mathiason, Pendleton, Ore.

Pernella Mathiason was born at Thor and moved with her parents to Bode where she attended school. In 1942, she married Glen Tofteberg at Thor, and they lived in Bode until moving to Fort Dodge in 1967. Mr. Tofteberg died in 1970. Mrs. Tofteberg was a member of the Fort Dodge Eagles Auxiliary.
