Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Schlader, 83, were held Saturday morning at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Catholic church. Rev. James Slowey officiated and burial was in Calvary cemetery beside her, husband and son who died in infancy.

Mrs. Schlader, whose maiden name was Carrie Sadler, was born in Kanakee, Ill., Feb. 13, 1867. She died Aug. 30th at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larson. At the age of 15 she moved with her parents to Wright County, Iowa, and on Nov. 22, 1888, was married to M. A. Schlader. They resided for many years on a farm east of Eagle Grove, and upon the death of her husband, Mrs. Schlader with her family moved to Eagle Grove.

She is survived by five children, A. J. Schlader of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Harry Haskin (Clara) of Miami, Fla., Fred Schlader of Davenport, Raymond Schlader of Chicago, and Mrs. Edward Larson of this city. Also, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. J. W. Robinson of this city and one brother, P. N. Sadler of Clinton.

Out of town relatives who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schlader and son Noel of St. Louis, Mo.; Fred Schlader of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schlader, Miss Donna Claire Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schlader, Mrs. Orma Polmateer, Chicago, Ill.; Peter Sadler, Mrs. Edward Sadler, Richard, Joel and David, Clinton; Mrs. Vincent Parks and son James and daughter Elizabeth of Omaha, Neb; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller, of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. A. N. Sadler, Mrs. Russell Sadler, Boone; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Dale, Missouri Valley, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlader, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Schlader, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Gabel, Mrs. Spurbeck, Charles City; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Martin, Lewis Uhler, Mrs. Knute Rohrer, Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Adams, Woolstock.
