Arlene A. Mathey, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Greg) Longhauser-Quick of Trimble, MO; Karen (Tom) Skophammer of Fort Dodge; Vicki (Jim) Tegethoff of Saint Charles, MO; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Clara Emma Mathilda (Telschaw) Rasmann; husband, Donald Mathey in 2010; sisters, Viola Rossow; Luella Ricke; brother, Wally Rasmann; son-in-law, Lester Longhauser.
Arlene Alva Rasmann was born December 26, 1924. She was raised and attended school in the Colfax Township. She moved to Fort Dodge and attended Tobin Business College and business school in Des Moines. She worked at Tobin Packing and then Dr. McDonald's Feed Company. Arlene was united in marriage to Donald Mathey on May 7, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. From 1956 to 1984, she worked at Hormel's specializing in payroll and insurance. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Women of St. Paul, Altar Guild, N.A.R.F.E. and Fort Dodge Women's Club. Memorials may be left to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund - 400 S. 13th St. Fort Dodge, IA; or UnityPoint Hospice, 802 Kenyon Road, Fort Dodge, IA.
