July 6, 1903 --- May 14, 1988

John Kiley was born July 6, 1903 on a farm near Kanawha, to Phil and Helen Mae Miller Kiley. He received his education in the Kanawha rural school system. On January 2, 1929, John was united in marriage to Ernie May Vroman at Clarion. They farmed in the Kanawha and Goldfield areas, moving to a farm north of Renwick in 1940. John was a member of the Renwick United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Renwick Senior Citizens, and was a 4-H leader for 10 years in Vernon Township. John became a resident of the Kanawha Community Nursing Home in Kanawha in March of 1982. John Kiley died at Kanawha, Saturday, May 14, 1988 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Ernie May (Peggy) of Kanawha; five sons, Leonard, Corwith; DeWayne, Dakota City; John Jr., Orchard, Neb., Ernest, Eagle Grove; and Kenneth, Renwick, 13 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four step-greatgrandchildren; and one foster grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 17, 1988 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with the Rev. Henry Huddleston officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Funeral arrangements were made by the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick.
