Jerry Patrick St. John was born September 12, 1942, the son of Pizarro and Alice May Miller St John, at Cedar Falls. He was educated in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Lou Streeter of Britt on June 26, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Britt. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where Jerry was employed with the Fareway Store for 14 years. He then began collecting and selling antiques. His wife, Bonnie, died in 1977. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Midwest Decoy Association. Jerry St. John died suddenly at his home Sunday, May 15, 1988, at the age of 45 years, eight months, and three days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife. He is survived by his son, Casey, Eagle Grove; one brother, Jim, Hastings, Minn.; and one sister, Julianna (Mrs. Sterling) Meyer of Thompson. Funeral services were held May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Paul Schaedig officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
