Mrs. Alice St. John Funeral Monday In Evangelical Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice St. John, 60, were held Monday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor H. W. Schiller officiated, and burial was in the cemetery at Osage, Ia. She died Friday in Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge following a long illness. Mrs. St. John is survived by one daughter, Mrs Sterling Meyer of Blairsburg, two sons, Jerry A. St. John of Eagle Grove and James St. John, a student at State College of Iowa, Cedar Falls. She is also survived by three granddaughters and one sister, Mrs. George Cummings of Cedar Falls.

Mrs. St. John was born in Osage and was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College. She taught at Dundee, Iowa prior to her marriage to Pizarro St. John on June 30th, 1935. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1951. Mr. St. John preceded her in death. Mrs. St. John began teaching Junior High and Senior High home economics in the Goldfield school system in 1957. She kept on teaching until late fall but due to her health was unable to continue. Classes were dismissed in the Goldfield school so that her students could attend the funeral services. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
