Mrs. Delphia Mae Hotz Brensdal was born on May 16, 1917, at Thor, Humboldt County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Lulu May Thompson Hotz. She attended and graduated from Eagle Grove High School and later joined the Waves Branch of the U.S. Navy during World War II. After receiving her discharge, she became a hair dresser and lived in Texas for a number of years, and then to Los Angeles, Calif, where she was a hair dresser. On Dec. 25, 1960, she was united in marriage with Edward Brensdal. They lived in California where Mr. Brensdal died in 1971. She lived in Cedar Rapids a short time and then moved back to Los Angeles, where she died on Aug 12, 1984 at the West Veterans Administration Medical Center in Los Angeles at the age of 67 years, two months and 26 days.

She is survived by three brothers, Virgil Hotz of Eagle Grove; Millard and Albert Hotz, both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 1984 at 2 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, with Rev Paul Schaedig, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
