Bernadine Randall Rich, Weiser, Idaho, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at a Weiser care center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Thomason Funeral Chapel, Weiser. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser.

Bernadine was born June 27, 1912, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of George Turpin and Chrissie Belle Smith Wardrip. She had two brothers and two sisters. The family moved from Eagle Grove to Weiser, Idaho, in 1919, where they purchased a farm north of Weiser on Monroe Creek. She married Edgar H. Randall in 1928. They ranched on Rock Creek and on Monroe Creek, where they raised their family. She worked alongside Edgar assisting with all ranching activities. She was an excellent horsewoman and enjoyed working with the animals. Indoors she prepared many delicious meals for ranch hands and family. Through their joint efforts, Bernadine and Edgar realized their dream of owning one of the largest ranches in Washington County. They retired from the ranching business in 1964. Edgar passed away in 1979. Bernadine married Don Rich in 1989, and he passed away in 1994. Bernadine loved Salmon and was a frequent visitor of her sister-in-law Lorraine Keith.

Survivors include a brother John Roehl of Salmon, a daughter, Arlene Given of Weiser, son-in-law, Roy Slyter of Weiser; a son, George Randall of Caldwell, a son, Joe Randall and daughter-in-law Norma of Kuna; and a son Roy Randall and daughter-in-law Bonnie of Weiser; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her daughter Franka Slyter, and two grandsons. The family suggest memorials be made in her name to the Heart Association, 270 S. Orchard, Suite B, Boise, Idaho 83705.
