James Patrick Noonan, the son of Maurice E. and Ina (Campbell) Noonan, was born on July 11, 1927, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1945. On July 16, 1945, Jim began his service in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge on July 18, 1946. Jim then graduated from Elgin School of Watch Making.

On April 21, 1952, Jim was united in marriage with Alpha Pearl Underberg in Livermore, Iowa. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1982.

Jim was the Co-Owner and operator of Noonan & Tomke Jewelry in Eagle Grove for many years. Jim's passions were singing in the Charles Russell Band, dancing, golfing and riding Honda Trails '70's!

Jim passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 90 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Jean Noonan and Annabelle Tomke and brothers, Maurie and Richard Noonan. Survivors include his children, Barb Noonan of Clarion and Mike Noonan and wife Cheryl of Pennock, MN; grandchildren, Jesse Rechkemmer of Clarion, Angela Sondrol and husband Jeremy of Sunburg, MN and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Nicholas Sondrol.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield, with Pastor Trish Underberg officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
