January 16, 1896 --- June 22, 1991

Clara Laura Johnson was born January 16, 1896 in Belmond, Iowa to Charles and Lena Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Belmond by Rev. H. C. Holm.

On August 13, 1913 she was united in marriage to Gerhard Holm by Rev. H. C. Holm. To this marriage were born two daughters, Lillian and Geraldine. Gerhard passed away in 1918.

On Sept. 28, 1921 she was united in marriage to Thomas I. Wagner. To this marriage three sons were born, Joseph, Everett, and John Harris. The Wagners farmed in the Eagle Grove area until retiring in 1947 when they moved to Webster City. Thomas passed away in 1969.

In 1980 Clara moved into the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove where she passed away on June 22, 1991. She was a 70 year member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid.

Preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters and six brothers and one grandchild. Survivors are daughters Lillian Rogers, Northwood, and Geraldine Price, Mesa, Ariz.; sons Joseph and Everett of Eagle Grove and John Harris of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services for Clara Laura Wagner were held Tuesday, June 25, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Maynard Moen officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge.
