Mary Lou Pulis, 79, Webster City, died Sunday, August 1, 1999 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Blairsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.
Mary Lou Wasson, daughter of Charles and Loveta Woodward Wasson, was born August 27, 1919 on a farm near Clarion. She graduated from Blairsburg High School and also attended college for three years. On July 29, 1945, she married Edwin Pulis at Webster City. She had taught in rural schools, schools at Webster City, Pocahontas and Clarksville. The couple lived briefly at Waterloo, then moved to a farm northwest of Blairsburg in 1946. They moved to Webster City in 1976.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Lisa Pulis of Blairsburg, daughter Susan Fyten of Avon, CT, grandchildren Allyson Fyten, Matt, Dan, Jacob and Hannah Pulis, and Sarah Tate, sisters Ruth Moorman and Helen Atkins, Ames. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daniel Pulis, and a brother, Dick Wasson. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg.
