Dorothy Pauline Greiman passed away November 13, 2017, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, MO. She was 93.

Dorothy was born May 30, 1924 in Kanawha, IA to Oscar and Lula Hartwig. She graduated from Corwith High School in 1942, and then from Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA in 1943. On June 28th, 1944, she married Walter Greiman of Garner, IA. Together they had three children, Stephen, Kathy and Jane. The family eventually settled on a farm in Lake Mills, IA.

In addition to raising three children and being an active farm wife, Dorothy had many interests and achievements while living in Lake Mills. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Dorothy was the Bookkeeper for Milady’s, a local clothing store, and organized the Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years. She was a member of the Literary Club, belonged to several Bridge Clubs, and was an avid bowler.

In 1976, Walt and Dorothy purchased a farm in Milan, Missouri. Walt and Dorothy were members of Peace Lutheran Church, where they served on the building committee for the current structure. Dorothy was also very active in the Peace Lutheran Ladies club, and again competed in league bowling. For several years, Dorothy was the bookkeeper for High Hope services. She very much enjoyed working with the employees and clients of this organization. In 2005 after the passing of her husband Walter, Dorothy retired and moved to Kirksville, MO. Again, she was active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she participated in various church ministries.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her brother, Charles Hartwig and wife Pat, Kanawha, IA. She is also survived by her children, Stephen Greiman and wife Rosalie, Lake Mills, IA; Kathy Helgeson and husband Robert, La Quinta, CA; and Jane Schaper and husband Ronald, Kirksville, MO. Dorothy had six grandchildren, Jason Helgeson and wife Mindy, Frisco, TX; Jennifer Hentges and husband Chris, Jefferson City, MO; Jessica Kespohl and husband Chris, Columbia, MO; Tyler Schaper and wife Christy, Alton, IL; Jill Greiman and Tyler Gustafson, Ankeny, IA; Christine Budach and husband Chris, Lake Mills, IA. Dorothy also has eighteen great-grandchildren; Delaney, Hagen and Janaye Helgeson; Emily and Katie Pruett; Hillary, Hale, Holly and Hannah Hentges; Jackson, Josephine, and Nickolaus Kespohl; Jacob and Blake Schaper; Bryce and Jersey Budach; Claire and Aden Gustafson.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be 10:30 AM, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church in Kirksville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 9:30 AM. Interment service will be held at 12:00 Noon at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Arrangements are through Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, MO. Contributions are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church in Milan.
