Wallace James Gorder, age 89 of Iowa Falls, died on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 4th at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Wallace James Gorder was born on April 22, 1928 in Dows, Iowa, the son of Chris and Emma (Ellingson) Gorder. He graduated from the Popejoy High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. On October 17, 1952 Wallace was united in marriage to Grace Lorraine Crabtree at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. He was retired from the Farmers Co-op.

Wallace is survived by his daughter, Julie Schreitmueller of Ames and Jane Gorder-Halladay and her husband, Matt Halladay of Iowa Falls; and two grandchildren, Jim Schreitmueller of Ames and Sarah Schreitmueller who is stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Lorraine; two sisters, Leona Hackbarth and Avon Price; a brother, Dale; and a son-in-law, Steve Schreitmueller.
